Starting Module 2
This will be the first time i have written a blog since i recieved my feedback from my first module. So, i guess the best thing to start off by saying is that i am so super happy with the feedback that was given to me and definetely have noted the little things that i need to watch out for during this next module. It's all about developing and after my one to one i feel confortable going into Module 2.
I have a few ideas in which i am interesting in exploring as my research propsal i just know that i need to narrow it down and follow a more specific avenue after doing some more reading. My initial idea was looking into the idea of furthering the understanding of the impact of self-image before a dance audition.
This interests me as i am currently auditioning so i know exactly how self-image can potenially impact an entire audition and the effects that it can have in the audition room. After researching i can think about how i personally approach an audition in terms of mindset or phyicality and how affects my performance in an audition room.
I found a paper by Robin Prichard (2017) where i found alot of things very interesting. he said 'the second important element in self-talk is to praise yourself, and to praise yourself for the right things. Praising yourself for the process rather than the outcome' I found this really interesting as often as dancers we get extremely caught up on just the outcome of an audition if you didnt get the job which is truely soul destorying and never really gets easier. But thinking about it we should look at the positives of maybe how far we got or how well our turns were.
The week i am going to focus on deeper reading and working on the propsal inquiry.
hello
