Areas of Learning

After the zoom meeting yeserday I felt I had alot to think about following the discussion surroudning areas of learning. I came up with five areas of learning that I can truly relate to and use refletive practise to explore different ideas.These five being; self belief, pressure, organisation, vunerability and accepting your flaws. A relfection on self belief for me is understanding you have to be your own biggest supporter. Looking back on my training I can see building my self belief led me to build on self motivation which is key to this ' be the best you can be' motto we hear alot as dancers. I also read an extract from a piece of text in which Evan Jones says 'professionals are aware of the continuous self-critical anaylsis and reflections for self improvment striving for perfection in performance' which had me thinking why on earth we do put all this pressure on ourselves and create this 'perfect' term in our heads to try and achieve a level of excellence ...

My First Blog

Hello everyone! First time blogger here! My journey that has got me this far started in cornwall where I am born and raised, I then went to Italia Conti to train as a professional dancer. Unfortunately I graduated in 2020 during the pandemic which has been extremely tough mentally however, it has made me stonger. It has also taught me to believe in myself more, which is why I have started this course! Module 1. There is definetely alot to take in thats for sure, I need to keep re-reading the resources that are given to me and listen to the advice of the other students who are futher on in the modules. The introducutory zoom call I found to be very welcoming and insightful to see how other people had gotten on with the modules and all the different ideas that they shared. I have started to plan and figure out how to juggle a full time job, dance training and university work, which in time, hopefully, I will get used to and it will be nice and balanced in order to achieve eveything th...
